Memes Ahoy!

There are several versions of this floating around the internets; the version currently circulating on DW simply involves listing favorite things, as opposed to, say, favorite authors/characters. See matopia's entry here for an example.

Comment to this entry and I'll give you a letter. List ten things that you love that begin with that letter and then post that list on your journal.

Place of take-off here @ handyhunter; Buffy the Vampire Slayer example by entwashian, Harry Potter version by such_heights, and really, there are many, many more out there. Check them out--and various meta in response--via linkspam here.

Basic idea? Recast a movie, a tv show, a book or comic adaption, etc. with chromatic casting. Pictures make it vivid.

Confused by what's meant by 'chromatic' here? I like dark_agenda's profile definition:

We use the term “chromatic” as an umbrella definition for “person of color”, “non-white”, "multiracial", "indigenous", "sourcelander”, “hyphenate”, “diasporian”, etc.; while we acknowledge that it has shortcomings. Similarly, we accept that there is a certain flattening in our “white/Western/other” terminology.

ruuger has started an Archive of Our Own-centered fic commenting meme.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is then to go to Archive of Our own, and...

1. Look up an old favourite and let the writer know that you still love the story.
2. Find a story in your favourite fandom that you haven't read, or for which you haven't remembered to leave feedback.
3. Cheer up a friend by leaving feedback to their fic.
4. Go to the random tags view, select an interesting tag, and see of you can find something you like.

rhi has started a neat "creative/leitmotif meme".

If I made Cinderella, the audience would immediately be looking for a body in the coach. -- Alfred Hitchcock, 1899 - 1980

If I wrote fic/drew art/vidded/folded origami/etc today, the readers/viewers would immediately be looking for... what?
