It's easy to fixate on daily irritations and disappointments. Learn from them, then let them go: be kind to yourself. In your own journal, take a moment to think of and post three good things from your day or current week. Small or large, they are booster shots of pleasure worth sharing.

Place of take-off here @ [livejournal.com profile] handyhunter; Buffy the Vampire Slayer example by [livejournal.com profile] entwashian, Harry Potter version by [personal profile] such_heights, and really, there are many, many more out there. Check them out--and various meta in response--via [community profile] linkspam here.

Basic idea? Recast a movie, a tv show, a book or comic adaption, etc. with chromatic casting. Pictures make it vivid.

Confused by what's meant by 'chromatic' here? I like [community profile] dark_agenda's profile definition:
We use the term “chromatic” as an umbrella definition for “person of color”, “non-white”, "multiracial", "indigenous", "sourcelander”, “hyphenate”, “diasporian”, etc.; while we acknowledge that it has shortcomings. Similarly, we accept that there is a certain flattening in our “white/Western/other” terminology.
